Why Is Failure Important?

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
―Michael Jordan

It’s not that we fail, all of us will fail many times in life…. what is important is what we do after we fail. It’s how you deal with it, what you learn from it, and how you apply that lesson to your life.

So why is this important to our happiness. Often when we fail at something we don’t forgive ourselves. We then become fixated on the failure and become depressed and unhappy. As a result, we may develop low self-esteem. So what can we do?

Remember when I talked about Humility. Humility teaches me that I am not the smartest yes, but it also teaches me that I am not perfect, I will make mistakes. I need to always remember this and forgive myself when I fail or make a mistake. …forgive myself and learn from this.

I know that I am not perfect. I have and will continue to make mistakes or fail, I will be the first to point out my failures not yours.
